Lashing The Lazy Youths.

Ekoja Jesse

Go anywhere in Nigeria, anywhere at all, deep hands in the pocket and spray cash, tell me the outcome another day.
It is a shame that a Nigerian youth, with muscles and probably with a sagging trouser prefer free money than earn a honest living. Shame on us all.
Shout all you can, lash at the system all you want, blame past leaders, blame anyone, the truth remains that one and one makes two, three and even a million can be made by adding one million ones.
This is to say that it takes two to tangle, it takes bad leadership and a bad followership to make a corrupt system.
It takes a smart leadership and an illiterate followership to run a bad system.
Although youth involvement is growing, I can swear by any god anywhere that 70% of us are getting involved are for personal profits, and not for patriotic profits.
So that this youth involvement in politics is a wasted and totally futile move.
In wait?
Before this development of "easy does it" mindset of our youths, these leaders had always shortchanged us.
They moved from undereducating us to wrongly-educating us.
They moved from religiously brainwashing us to applying religion for violent motives.
They moved from oppressing our parents to molesting us with joblessness.
They moved from using us for political ends to using us as sitting ducks and now as terrorists?
They moved from ballot snatching to vote buying.
Where did the Nigerian youth move from?
Where did we land?
They have always used us. The "they" been applied here is not a group of totally unknown people.
They are the people we have looked up to, people we have at one time or the other ran to for help. The people we see on TV, giving speeches. The people whose face have always appeared on political posters once every four years. They are the people we so adore, we have to gather on highways, airports and town halls. The people gather round to be entertained by political lies?
My question is, why do we gather in numbers to celebrate the people that have used our resources for personal development?
This happens only in Nigeria.
Why?
Because we are a jobless lot. In the western world, it is stupidity to gather and cheer convoy fleet of anyone at all, say more a political office holder, a slave, a con.
They are developing because they have decided to take their own destiny in their hand and the business of government reduced to signing contracts (not handling contract funds). Their job as politicians is to have a slavery job of serving the people how they want to be served and not help loot funds in the name of running an office they hardly sit in.
Over time, I have been trying to get why Nigerians (especially the youths), run after convoys. I have come to an agreement that money is the motive. Not to be honorably paid but to rush and scrabble for money that are sometimes not even sprayed out of greed of personal assistants and campaign coordinators.
Another set of youths, follow politicians from toilets to bedrooms, in the name of selling a campaign song that is never really heard by anyone in the circle of such politicians.
In many cases they have never paid the desperate artist, yet these desperado artists keep doing this. Guess they never learn?
These elites no send creativity.
Try something, pick any youth at random,
Give him 20k and tell him you need a job done for 18k, trust me, he'd look for how to get it done with 15k, or abscond with the whole money.
We are not reliable, this is what they claim is the reason why they can't entrust leadership in our hands.
What a shame?  Except unlike the youths, the elites are natural abscondees. Self-righteous lots, but today is not their turn, it is that of the lazy Nigerian youths.
If we'd ask for money at every slight opportunity, imagine what you can do with them if they hold on plenty of money.
Imagine paying such a youth for mischief?
Most times the reasons we have for these monies is just stupid. High, Womanizing and a fake lifestyle.
Of course, I'm not God and shouldn't judge, but our country is crumbling, Nigeria is dying.
PDP or APC is not the remote cause here, neither is GEJ, OBJ, UMY (RIP)  or PMB.
The problem is we youths, who will be most affected by their misrule in the next 10-50 years.
Whose today was destroyed 58 years ago.
Whose tomorrow is been jeopardized by rascals, with a balanced ease because they have us by the balls.
I don't want to go all day killing precious time.
I have woken, you need to.
I have thought and observed, you should if you've not been doing.
I have understood our docility, it's implications and the recommendations, you need to.
I have seen that we can't fight because they have all the guns, and we have no guts, with just wealth and populism they have already finished us.
I have seen how cheap Nigerian life keeps getting by the day.
I have seen that a PVC can get anyone there, in other countries. May never happen here. The electoral policies must be revisited for any meaningful progressive stride to be attained.
I have seen that a violent change is inevitable if our ways and constitution are not revisited.
I have known and always, that I deserve more than 4k or 100naira and onions on election day. Matter of fact, I won't vote for any party that pays me
I have seen that elections are around the corner and as usual people are fooling other fools and these other fools will fool other fools.
I have seen that Nigeria can't move forward this way (killings, unemployment, underdevelopment,...........).
I have seen that I can use violence when PVCs won't work to bring about this change (even our constitution legalizes intervention of failed governments).
I have seen that we restructure or burst.
@youths we fit.
